British 1820 Settlers to South AfricaThis Genealogy website was a totally free website, dedicated to the British Settlers to South Africa in 1820, their descendants and researchers. As of Friday 15th August 2025 this project of mine is now Closed, and I will not be maintaining or accepting any new addition or update requests to the database. The project started in 2002 with the objective of the website to build a complete and accurate record of all the 1820 Settlers and their families with relevant historical information about them for the 2020 Bicentennial. This project has therefore overrun by 5 years! It is now a closed dissertation. I will not be doing any further research into the 1820 Settlers, but rather concentrating on my own family history which is not 1820 Settler related, except by marriage. As of 28th December 2025, it is now permanently offline and unavailable... My apologies, but my service provider is continually asking me to upgrade to cater for all the new traffic - which is actually being generated by AI robots scraping the site for information..I am not going to pay for their efforts! I was hoping to keep it open, but circumstances have changed. |
