"Hi again Sharon Have just remembered that I sent most of the info. on the Driver's Bush and Hill dilemma to Julie Driver in Canada and she loaded it onto a web site, including some photos I took. Go to: <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jdriver/Drivers_at_Albany.htm> for details. It seems we are dealing with families who were in the same area! If you can get hold of the Algoa Gazetteer by Skead, you'll find quite a bit on Driver's Bush ... I don't have details with me now but remember that there is some argument about the exact location. However, it's near Governor's Kop and particularly close to the radio mast there. Just to the east is the property 'Greenhills' which was farmed by the Bagot family in the early days, and just to the north of this is Stoney Vale, where William Smith's Party was located. If my interpretation was correct when delving into this, Driver's Bush falls partly on the Greenhills farm. The Driver family lived on the farm just east of Stoney Vale and had an Inn there at some stage. If you have a 1:50 000 topo. map of the area, this will help you a lot - worth getting a set of the whole area in fact - I can send you details of how to obtain them if you'd like this.
