My Lord,

Wishing to emigrate to His Majesty’s new colonay at the Cape of Good Hope I have taken the liberty of writing to your Lordship soliciting for permission to remain at the said colonay as a setteler with a grant of land, wishing to pay my own passage to the said colonay. Humble trusting your Lordship will grant my request and a answer as soon as possible

I remain your Lordship’s most humble and obedient servant
