Sir,      

            I take the liberty to request you will be pleased to inform me whether His Majesty’s Government will issue a free passage to the Cape of Good Hope for myself and such number of settlers (from 10 to 100) as I may find convenient hereafter to agree to carry with me. I further beg to be informed if I will be allowed any additional grant on my own account having been an officer in His Majesty’s Service ten year and a half.
