Sir,
I John STEVENS has herd that you have the command of sending familey to the Cape of good hope and has I have no Imploy nor my family I wish if you will be so kind as to answer my letter and let me into the light how to proceed as I have a wife and two sons and would wish to go to get sum Imploy to maintain my family. Sir I would also wish you to let me know when and where the people do sail from and how we have to be provided for as in this Town there is several familey that do wish also to go to the Cape of good hope as we cant get no Imploy. I beg answer as soon as your Lordship thinks fit.
