Notes |
- He grew up in Port Elizabeth but went to school in Grahamstown for part of his life. He was a great sportsman and died at the tennis courts in Vereeniging after playing a match. He was a Free Mason whose good deeds were too many to mention and were only discovered after his death.) After completing his apprenticeship as a fitter & turner, he joined the Union Castle Steamship company and travelled to many countries on different Liners. He worked for Eskom and was at the Zr Station as well as Taaibos Power Station during their construction days. For many years he worked for the Amalgamated Engineering Union in Vereeniging.
