- Richard is not listed in any of the recognised Settler lists, but as he secured his release from Captain Duncan Campbell's party - see his Cape Movement Permit at https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C9BY-693F-5 - he must have been a member of that party, and probably travelled under the name of one of those who did not embark. He was taken into employment by John Hilson Wills, a tinsmith, who was a member of D Campbell's party.
