  Captain of the Chapman settler ship. went ashore in Cape Town for his marriage to Sarah Eliza who was one of the settlers on board. Sarah died in 1823 and John married Elizabeth Young in 1834, and took her with him on one of his trips to Australia. from The Sydney gazette and New South Wales Advertiser, 12 May 1835: SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE ARRIVALS. From the Downs, on Sunday last, whence she sailed the 1st of January, the Ship Emma Eugenia, 383 tons, Captain Milbank. Lading, merchandise. Passengers Mr. Thomas M'Donnell, Mr. R.
