Hello Paul
Looks like an interesting resource. I am trying to verify some of my wife SA ancestors that began with HC De Meillon (b. London 1800) who was dropped off in CT in 1823 from a Royal Navy ship due to illness. There are gaps in his SA family I am trying to breach as they married existentially with ancestors of the Dutch and German settlers.

I have been searching for my father's side of the family for years. sadly he passed away when I was very young and my mom had some information. To finally trace my roots all the way back to Benjamin Patrick was awesome. I have a real sense of who I am now.
Thank you so much for this site and all the hard work that has gone into it. smile smile smile

Dear Paul, Thank you for your kindness in allowing free access to your site. You wont know in this life how much you have helped people find their family links.
I am working on the Goss line.
Michael Goss arrived in SA with the 1820 Settlers aboard the ship Fanny - Butler's party.
I have not been able to find Michael Goss' parents in Ireland. Some records say His mother was Hannah Dorey and the his James Goss. But source records elude me.
Is there anyone out there who can cast some light on this query please?
With thanks - Annette von Brughan

Very appreciative of all the work. What a fantastic resource. We are descendants of the Donovans on La Belle Alliance, and trying to trace whether we are descended from William or George. My great grandfather was Michael Donovan. His first wife ? Wilson died in childbirth in 1906 and we are seeking info on where he went, his wife's first name and who his father was. His grandfather was either William or George, sons of Joseph Donovan.

smile Thank you for the development and maintenance of this site, to which I periodically refer being an 1820 settler descendant myself. It has been of great value in my endeavours indeed.

I would like to trace my father's side of the family. I have never met anyone from his family and hardly knew him as my parents divorced when I was 2 yrs old. He is since deceased. His name was Isaac Johannes Parkin.

Hi Paul

Great to see someone with such passion for history. I am genuinely impressed I have known general history on my ancestors but to see it so plainly laid out is fantastic. Great effort.
