    Morse Jones has William as a member of Shepherd's party, as a 25 year old merchant, that only arrived in 1825 which is incorrect! Peter Philip in his British Residents at the Cape 1795 - 1819 has William arriving in 1815, and marrying Maria Hollings, the governess to Lord Somerset's children.
