Notes: Thomas Barber was a well known painter of Nottingham, who painted portraits of many of the aristocracy of the Midlands. He studied at the studio of Sir Thomas Lawrence and was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy. He left many fine portraits of his wife and family, and these are still treasured heirlooms of his descendants.
