1. | James Edward Jennings, 1820 Settler was born in 1792; died in 1820 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. Other Events and Attributes:
Notes: James Jennings fell ill whilst waiting for their ship and was taken to the Portsmouth Naval Hospital where he died. His wife and 3 children sailed on the "Weymouth" on 7 Jan 1820 and arrived at Algoa bay on 15 May 1820. (This story does tie up with another. It is not certain whether there was one child or whether there were three boys.) I think that his fathers name was also James. James married Mary Butcher, 1820 Settler on 3 May 1815 in Warminster, St Denys with St Lawrence, Wiltshire, England. Mary was born in 1790 in Wiltshire, England; died in Bathurst, Eastern Cape, South Africa. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart] Children:
