John and Frances Pullen are described in the early 19th century book "The Pullens of Yorkshire" by Catherine Pullen. They had a son named John born in 1749 and it is surmised that these are the parents of John Pullen who married Ann. However, John's marriage record has proven elusive and conclusive evidence has not been found to conclusively link John to John and Frances Pullen.
