Lesley Escombe Cleaton wrote on facebook : The Currin's arrived a few years after the 1820 settlers. They were en route to NZ, and were shipwrecked in the Cape. They originated from Crick in Northamptonshire. One of the Currin ancestors was landlord of a pub in Crick ... the pub is still there, serves delicious food, and has a framed list of on the wall of all landlords, and their time of tenancy.
