Emigrated to South Africa and became a Methodist Minister and Moderator of the Methodist Church.
Abraham proposed to Muriel at the age of 16 and asked her to wait for him. She enjoyed university life so much that Abraham Arthur Wellington put his foot down and married her.
The first circuit of Muriel and her husband Abraham Arthur was of Ixopo Natal from 1911 to 1920. Abraham was called to Graaff Reinet in 1920 and in 1927 was appointed Healtown. Here during a notable ministry of 17 years he set Healtown at the forefront of African Institutions in South Africa.
He was elected President of the Methodist Conference in 1936 in Pietermaritzburg.
He was Governor of Healtown Institution near Fort Beaufort.

Was the eldest child of Alec Turner of Wilton Somerset East .She was of 1820 Settler stock being the granddaughter of Annie Trollop of Daggaboer , Bedford and James Weeks of Wilton.
She was educated at the Wesleyan High School and was at Rhodes University from 1907 to 1908. Abraham proposed to Muriel at the age of 16 and asked her to wait for him. She enjoyed university life so much that Abraham Arthur Wellington put his foot down and married her.

At Healtown apart from her duties as housewife, mother and hostess to important visitors Murial was active in developing a large garden from which 800 institution boarders were supplied with fresh vegetables all of the year round.
In addition she took upon herself the training of African mothers and young girls in housewifery and mothercraft.
