The bride was Miss Wilhelmina Bowker, fourth daughter of William Bowker, Esq., of Thorn Kloof, who was present and gave her away, the bridegroom being Mr. Clement Howard Currie, son of the late Joseph Currie, Esq., and nephew of the late Sir Walter Currie. The appearance at the altar was most attractive, the bride being attended by eight bridesmaids, viz.: Miss Bowker, Miss Libby Bowker, Miss Agnes Bowker, Miss Louisa Currie, Miss Agnes Carlisle, Miss Annie Currie, Miss Helen Cloete, and Miss Annie Norton. The bridegroom's bestman on the occasion was Mr. Fredrick Bowker, and the remaining groomsmen were Mr. Charles Huntley, Mr. William Currie, Mr. Francis Flemyng, Mr. Lawrence White, and Masters Walter Hudson and William Currie. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. R. J. Mullins, assisted by the Rev. G. Thompson, B. A. After the ceremony the happy pair left for their future home at Glen Ovis, near Carlisle Bridge. A great many gusets and others thronged the Cathedral to witness the ceremony, and the scene was much enlivened by the rendering of some suitable music on the organ by Miss Kennelly.
