    3. When William Shepherd’s Party of 1826 was being planned Mary Ann and Harriot were listed.
    4. The final group was said to have included Mary Ann and Harriott. However, the DN for John Snr only lists two children – John and William and the girls seem to have dropped out.
    5. Mary Ann may be the person of that name who married John French 19.1.1834 in Bristol.
    6. Harriett may be the person of that name who was buried 13.2.1832 at Bristol, St John the Baptist
    7. James aged 11 in 1826 presumably remained in the UK with family. There are several possible marriage entries for a James Biggs in the 1840s in Bristol.
    8. John’s DN was filed on 27.4.1839 and has the Note. The deceased left no property except the House he died in [situated near the Toll bar Grahamstown] which he possessed or obtained with his present widow Mrs Frances Biggs and some property formerly sold but not transferred to the purchasers. The reason this notice was not served before arose from the ignorance of the parties concerned. Mrs Biggs is an aged Bed ridden widow of 73 years of age.
