Notes: Capel was Harbour Master & Deputy Superintendent of the Merchant Marine, and Clerk of Court & Customs Officer at Port Lincoln (which is also a pretty little town, but on the coast across from Adelaide on Yorke Peninsula). Capel was then Clerk for the Court at Strathalbyn, South Australia, before moving to New Zealand. It would seem he came to the gold rush in Victoria? then must have found an appointment in South Australia, before marrying at Riccarton, Christchurch, New Zealand, Apr. 4th. 1876. Capel then returned to South Australia before later settling in New Zealand. He died when visiting his wife’s relations in England. Eveline his wife later became a notable Socialist and Feminist activist in New Zealand, and remarried Herbert James Cunnington at Leithfield, Canterbury, New Zealand, Dec. 18th. 1884.
