15. | Jacomina Jacoba Jansen van Rensburg was born on 3 Dec 1814 (daughter of Hendrik Peterus Jansen van Rensburg and Jacomina Jacoba Maartens); died in 1851. Notes:
Mrs. Krebs was Jacomina Jacoba Janse van Rensburg and she and Dr. Johannes Georg (known as Georg) Krebs were married and had one daughter, namely Anna Cecilia Maria Krebs, born in 1843. Mrs Krebs married Frans Karel te Water in 1848 and died in 1851. As Anna Krebs was now an orphan, Frans te Water became her guardian, and she later married Edward Wedel du Toit.
Frans te Water came out to the Cape Colony to the Bedford district where he had been retained as a tutor. However, he was not happy here and decided to return to Brussels. He rode to Graaff-Reinet to catch the post-cart to Port Elizabeth, and while in Graaff-Reinet saw an advertisement in the local newspaper inviting applictions for the position of town clerk. He applied for the job and was appointed in the position and spent the rest of his long life in Graaff-Reinet.
"Te Water House" or "Huis te Water" was originally built by Sir Andries Stockenström when he became Commissioner-General of the Eastern Province of the Cape Colony. Dr. Georg Krebs came to Graaff-Reinet in 1835 and bought the house for 4500 Prussian Thalers. He died in 1846 and left the house to his wife Jacomina. Jacomina married Frans te Water, in community of property, and when she died in 1851, he inherited the house, which he named "Te Water House" or "Huis te Water".
