• Notes

  The Passenger List on the 1820 ship Fanny refers to her as Margaret but she is mentioned by the name Biddy by John Montague, a fellow settler, in his reminiscences. Biddie or Biddy may have been baptised either Bridget Margaret or Margaret Bridget. Settler John Montgomery mentions her on the walk from Baltinglass to Cork in his reminiscences, so she is almost certainly the wife who accompanied James Devine to Albany [2]
