• Notes

  After John Mitford Bowker's death at Oakwell his wife Mary Anne BOWKER bought the farm 'Mitford Park' near Riebeck East in August 1850. Later the Cape government granted Mary Anne the farm 'Signal Kop' and 'Signal Hill' on the Fish River in recognitgion of her late husband's Services.
