- twin sister of Noel Julia {Groves gedcom file } " The story was that Geraldine drowned when the ship she was on - Galway Castle, I think, was torpedoed in WW1. She apparently refused to board the lifeboat until she found Mary's 2-year old sister - which she never did! Baby Mary was taken to England and brought up in South Africa by various relatives. We met Mary and knew her quite well when we were students at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. She worked at the Library for the Blind. " { quoted by Hilary Groves - her gedcom file }
