  Mac entered Standard Bank and in the 1930's was transferred, first to P.E., then to Fort Victoria, Rhodesia, then to Salisbury. His sister, Jessie lived with them for a while in Salisbury. She was jealous of Mac's wife, Dora and caused all sorts of trouble. Eventually Mac asked her to leave and she moved back to S.A. where she lived with Louis and Olive de Souza in a cottage paid for by Olive. She cut Mac off. She told her grandchildren about the man who brought two wives with him to the Cape. He married (1) Dora Lieberman, d. 1944 in Harare (Salisbury), Zimbabwe. He married (2) Nn Nn. He married (3) Stella Burton. Stella: The love of her life was her first husband, Major Lawrence who was killed in WW II. She never recovered although she married Edward Crankshaw who adopted her sons by Lawrence. Her subsequent marriage to Thomas William Gardiner McCracken was stormy as she slowly slipped into mental illness. They were divorced and she ended up in a mental home where she died.
