Notes |
- Tommy Lyn BRADFIELD:1939-45 war shot in arm in Greece LRDG with Don Coventry.
His injured arm was held out and away from his body by a frame of sorts, and recall him saying that it was encased in plaster of paris. What he hadn't been told about was the use of maggots in those days to clean out the dead flesh, and when they started popping out of the end of his dressings he thought he was well and truly rotting. Tommy was a very tough individual and a hard butfair task master. He also liked to hunt at Buffalo Bend, which he did a fair amount of in the 20's and 30's I believe.
