- Frances married Charles Trappes in South Africa in 1825. The marriage notice in the Belfast Commercial Chronicle gives the date as 20 Apr 1825 and the place as Liesbeek's Cottage. A transcription of the marriage entry by the the eGGSA branch of the Genealogical Society of South Africa says:
25 Apr 1825
1825,
Charles Trappes
marital status: bachelor
Esq.
and
Frances Houston
marital status: spinster

Notes |
- Frances Houston was a niece of Walter Synnot (his wife was Elizabeth Houston).
Frances married Capt Charles Trappes (Landrost of Worcester and previously, circa 1822/3, of Bathurst after retiring from Army in 1822) who died 5 SEP 1828 in Worcester. I do not know when Frances left the Cape but she and her two sons landed up in Tasmania like the Synnot family.
