  "I see you do not appear to have records of Robert Southey's (Poet Laureate) descendants past Charles Cuthbert b. 1819 - 1888. My husband is one of the few direct descendants in the male line. Charles Cuthbert Southey, Robert's son married three times, had one son Robert by his first marriage to Christina Anne MacLachlan. Robert went to Canada and his family lost contact with him but believed he did not marry/have children. From his second marriage to Henrietta Carrington Nunn, Charles Cuthbert had another son Herbert (1854 - 1923) born at Ardleigh 1854. He emigrated to New Zealand in 1878 and later married Fanny Georgina Hawkins. Herbert had 2 sons, Charles Carrington (1889 - 1976) and Cyril Herbert (1893 - 1959) who did not marry or have children. Charles Carrington married Betty Harding and had 4 children, 2 sons and 2 daughters. His elder son Charles Robert has 3 daughters and his younger son, my husband Colin Aikman married Margaret Simpson and has 2 sons and and 2 daughters. Our elder son Ian Campbell has not married but our younger son has married Sandra Rodriguez-Zas and has 1 daughter and a new son, Thomas Joseph.
