    He lived in the Fort Beaufort area of the Cape. He was killed in the Fontier War of 1850-3

    On November, 1853, the Fort Beafort Victoria and Stockenstrom Land communes, approved by the Governor on 12th November, 1853, grants of erven and farms of 500 morgen, more or less, within the boundaries of the late Kat River Settlement were made to a number of persons which included G Eastland and Thomas Eastland.

    Family/Spouse: Ann Amelia Leach, 1820 Settler. Ann (daughter of Benjamin Leach, 1820 Settler and Ann Oxenham, 1820 Settler) was born in 1818 in Eynsham, Oxfordshire, England; died on 20 Mar 1875 in Salem, Eastern Cape; was buried on 21 Mar 1875 in Salem, Eastern Cape.
