Sarah and John Pratt only had one son but according to her death notice they had an adopted daughter but her surname was not changed and she is not mentioned on John's death notice three years later. It is not known what became of either of their two children.

Sarah married John Pratt on 23 Jul 1850 in Fort Beaufort, Eastern Cape, South Africa. John (son of Isaac Pratt and Mary Green) was born on 3 Jan 1816 in Belgium; died on 20 Jun 1874 in Gaolers Quarters, Dordrecht Jail, Dordrecht, Eastern Cape, South Africa; was buried in Dordrecht, Eastern Cape, South Africa. He was still a minor when his mother died. On his father's death notice he is not a minor so he must have come of age after August 1871. No further details are known about him other than a death notice which states he was single, and his mother was an Elizabeth Smith! Something does not appear to be correct!

A marriage application was made in Grahamstown on 19.10.1826 between Thomas CROFS and Sarah Bowers, were they perhaps her relatives? The names Crofs and Rofs are so similar.
