Other Information  He died 14th February 1856 in Uitenhage at his own house. He was a retired shoemaker, married with no children.
His death notice at https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSQF-C919-2?i=1715&cat=331262 was signed by his wife, Susan Charlott.
She must have been his second wife, as he was listed on the settler returns with a wife named Elizabeth.

Lower Albany Chronicle :
6 January 1830 He had paid for sittings at Grahamstown Church - I assume he rented his pew place?
22 August 1833 He was living in Grahamstown.
31 December 1845 Listed as a shoemaker in Grahamstown.
23 November 1849 "Thomas Francis was granted alloment No 10 in Morgan's location, foremerly held by James Lance"
