Someone using that name may have emigrated but the real Joshua Tew was married in St Peter’s church Carmarthen on 23.5.1820 to Mary Lewis – he was described as a bachelor and a mason. He and Mary were living in Titchfield in Hampshire in the 1841 Census – his birth year given as 1791. They had 4 children all born in Ireland. This man is the only person named Joshua Tew who turns up in FindMypast records for the UK.Dorothea Rowse} |
