This led to a crisis of confidence in the settler leadership, contributing to the collapse of the Clanwilliam settlement and the dispersion of the settlers. Some regrouped and moved to the intended destination of Albany. Preliminary chapters on the situation pertaining in Ireland, England, & Europe prior to emigration and another of the emigration scheme and assembly of the four parties.
