C.S. Exam 1898. C.S. Law 1900. Registrar, High Court, Johannesburg 1904. Attorney, Notary and Conveyancer, Joburg 1937. P.O. Box 1581 Durban, Natal 1946. He had inherited the farm “Waterfall” which he sold to his brother Francis William Monkhouse. Following the passing of his wife, Isabel, in 1942 Harold resided in Luanshya on the formerly prosperous copperbelt in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) with his daughter Audrey and her husband Gwyn Pritchard until they immigrated to the UK. He then moved to Reedsdale and resided with his brother Miles Humfrey and his wife Rhoda (nee Knott).
