  11 children. Martha was the only daughter of Richard Allwright and Mary May Broocke. The entry in the records of St George's Cathedral, Cape Town reads: 1831 Feb 15th - Martha, daughter of Richard and Mary, his wife, born 7 Octber 1829, privately baptised. The date 7th Octber 1829 could be a mistake as three birthday books belonging to members of the family record her birthdate as 7 September 1830.
