Matric Jan 1934; Accountancy, Gtn; S.A.A. 1940; Bdr 5 F. Regt; killed in Egypt, July 7th, 1942. John Robert Bowker got a first class Matric with distinction in Mathematics from St. Andre's College. He was articled to a firm of Chartered Accountants and had passed his 4th year when he joined up with the First City Regiment.
