  Extract from South African Who’s Who – Donaldson 1912 “WEAKLEY, Harry. Journalist; owner of the “Heidelburg News” and “ Colesburg Advertiser”; b. 20th June 1863 at Queenstown, C.P.; e.s. of George Robert WEAKLEY, Edit. of the “Colesburg Advertiser” from 1868 to 1887, when he died, and Harry Weakley, returned and took over. Educ. Bedford Public School; m. Dec 1888, Annie e.d. of late George KING, well-known stock breeder of Bedford, C.P.; 7 children. Went to Australia in 1885, and gained experience in farming in Victoria until death of his father in Aug. 1887, when he returned and took charge of the “Colesburg Advertiser” until 1895, when he started “Heidelburg News” which he is still editing. Hobby: Oil-painting. Add. Venter Street, Heidelburg, Transvaal.”
