  Colleen Keevy Meinert Grant writes" the farms in the Bedford district on which Eric Egerton Bowker, father of William and Derek, farmed were Alstonfields and Merrydale. Did you know that William, an inveterate bachelor, finally married in 2003 (Mary Inggs, a VGHS old girl) and a few months later he passed away after a bad bout of flu/bronchitis? William was very well liked, as he was a warm, friendly person. Mary had inherited the famous veteran car collection of her uncle, O.D. Inggs, so they had a common interest!"
