Bastard I am a member of the Walthamstow Historical Society and I am trying to gather information on one of your ancestors - Segar Richard Bastard, born 1853. My reason for interest is that Segar (never heard this used as a christian name before) was a keen sportsman and played for Leyton Football Club in 1875 Later he played for Upton Park. He became an international and a cup final referee. I have several addresses for him in Stratford where he was a solicitor. He later became a race horse owner and died at Epsom Railway station.
