• Notes

  He was wounded in the 8th Kaffir War, 1850/3; was a member of the House of Assembly (M.L.A.), 1858. Farmed at Maitland in the Peddie district. Donated part of Grahamstown Park. They took up a farm "Barville Park" in the Peddie district after the 8th Kaffir War. He and his wife died on the same day and are buried in the old Grahamstown, cemetary.
