  Reminiscences of an Albany Settler has him as the LAST 1820 Settler to die. Additional Information for John Lowne /FROST= They were married by the Rev. Francis McClelland at St. Mary's Church, Port Elizabeth, Cape. At his death he is listed as 97 years 6 months 13 days. Record of death and burial at Jubilee Park Cemetery, Uitenhage. Dutch Reformed page 40. In the book SOME FRONTIER FAMILIES by Mittford-Barberton and Violet Whie, 1968, it says: Lindsay L. Frost and his sister Mrs. Hester Hughes both lived to be centenarians. Left moveable and immovable property. Parish Registers of Holt, P. 16, 11 Dec 1815. "Baptised 11 Feb 1815 privately by J. Smith: John Lownd (sic), son of Philip and Elizabeth Frost, Abode Holt, trade/profession: brickmaker."Death Notice KAB, KAB DN 2363/1913: "Died aged 97y6m13d: calculated birth date 9 Dec 1815." Marriage entry # M80/143 for St. Mary, Port Elizabeth, lists the following witnesses to the marriage: John Philip Benecke; Ann Barnes Frost.
