Passports and Citizenship: British 1820 Settlers to South Africa

I have recently (2019) had a lot of email requests asking for help in tracing ancestors with the objective of obtaining citizenship and passports from foreign countries outside of South Africa.

I am sorry, but

I am not an expert on this topic.
I do not have the time to do this kind of research, particularly for free!
I do not know the requirements for all the countries.
I cannot give advice on which is the best country to try.
I do not know how long it will take to get your citizenship.
I do not know how much it will cost you.
I do not have access to birth certificates, marriage certificates or adoption papers.

What I can suggest is you

google for the countries websites that may give the answers. for UK try The UK Government pages
find a local company who specialize in emigration.
Check with your Department of Home Affairs or Consular offices
